  12. I had trouble getting my Global Village Teleport II modem working here in
  13. Japan.  As soon as it dialed the first digit in the phone number it died. 
  14. With Global Village's help, I was able to get it working for AOL by
  15. setting my AOL modem file as follows:

  17.              Configuration:  E0Q0V1X4W2
  18.  
  19.              Enable Hardware Handshaking:  &F&C1
  20.  
  21.              Disable Hardware Handshaking:  &F&C1&K0
  22.  
  23. In the Global Village Faxcenter menu I put an x in the Ignore Dialtone
  24. box.

  26. I'm now trying to make a PPP connection, but have only one line for the
  27. modem setup string.  (The default string is ATZ.)  Can anyone tell me how
  28. to convert my AOL setup codes into one string?  Thanks.
